BAKER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Counterfeit Cash Located in Huntington

Baker County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Mar. 12. 

On March 11, 2022, Baker County Sheriff's Office Dispatch was contacted by the T&T Country Store after an employee received suspicious looking cash from a customer following a purchase. Deputy Hansen responded to Huntington and discovered the cash was movie prop money. 

Deputy Hansen contacted the suspect, Michael Owen Small (64 years old), who was in possession of the counterfeit money. The fake bills were seized and Small was charged with Forgery I. He was transported to the Baker County Jail where he was booked and lodged. 

The Baker County Sheriff's Office encourages business owners and employees to carefully inspect any cash they receive. Many of these counterfeit bills appear realistic.
