HARNEY DISTRICT HOSPITAL: Hospital Using New Technology to Help Patients with Chronic Pain

Healthrecap

Harney District Hospital issued the following announcement on Mar. 4.

Harney District Hospital (HDH) is excited to announce that COOLIEF* Cooled Radiofrequency (RF) Treatment is now being offered at the pain clinic.

Chronic pain can be unbearable, persistent, and difficult to treat. Many patients who suffer from chronic pain try multiple remedies to ease their symptoms, including steroid injections, physical therapy, surgery, and narcotics.

COOLIEF* Cooled RF is a nonsurgical, nonopiod procedure for patients who are suffering from chronic knee, hip, shoulder, or back pain. It is also the first and only radiofrequency treatment to be FDA cleared for osteoarthritis knee pain.

Designed to treat pain lasting for longer than three months, COOLIEF* Cooled RF uses cooled radiofrequency energy to safely target the sensory nerves that are causing pain. The radio frequency waves stop the nerves’ ability to send pain signals to the brain, reducing the sensation of pain.

The HDH Pain Clinic is excited to offer this safe and effective treatment option, which delivers long-lasting pain relieve for many patients, so they can get back to enjoying their everyday lives.
