A woman was arrested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office on Mar. 24 after deputies found a substantial amount of methamphetamine in her home.
Kyra Ashley Johnston, born Oct. 21, 1988, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. Deputies received information about possible drug activity at Johnston’s residence on Mitchek Lane in Elgin and obtained a search warrant for her camper. During the search, deputies discovered what they described as a substantial quantity of methamphetamine.
At the time of this arrest, Johnston was already being held in jail on previous charges related to resisting arrest and harassment involving offensive physical contact from an earlier incident with the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
