6.3% of Union County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Union County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 772 people out of the 26,255 living in Union County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Union County has increased compared to the 5.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Union County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.6%.

Of the 11,420 people who had a job during that time, 33 were employed in the Armed Forces and 11,387 belonged to the civilian labor force.
