April: Eight registered sex offenders living in Baker County

There was one more registered sex offender living in Baker County in April compared to the previous month, according to the Oregon Sex Offender Registry.

There were eight sex offenders registered in Baker County in April, compared to seven the month before.

The Registry shows 27-year-old Geoffrey Michaels Amyx was the youngest sex offender living in Baker County in April.

Aaron Allan Aveiro was the oldest at 65-years-old.

Oregon has the highest population-adjusted rate of sex offenders – about 749 per 100,000 people.

In 2020, about 11,487 unique victims of child abuse were reported in Oregon, but studies of victims have shown less than 30% of sex crimes are reported to law enforcement.
