The Pendleton UAS Range is one of three finalists for the AUVSI XCELLENCE in Operations Award.
The AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards honor innovators with a demonstrated commitment to advancing autonomy, leading, and promoting safe adoption of uncrewed systems, and developing programs that use these technologies to save lives and improve the human condition. The sixth annual AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards recognize the accomplishments of companies, organizations and individuals across the uncrewed systems community.
“This year, XPONENTIAL is all about designing a shared plan for the future of autonomy,” said Brian Wynne, President and CEO of AUVSI, said. “There's no better place to announce the 2023 XCELLENCE award finalists. Together, they are redefining what's possible with uncrewed and robotic technology.”
This week, AUVSI released its lists of finalists for the XCELLENCE awards in academic research, innovation, operations, technology, workforce development and mission. There are three finalists for AUVESI XCELLENCE in Operations: Advanced Navigation, the Ohio Department of Transportation and The City of Pendleton.
“As has come to be the norm, little Pendleton is competing against much bigger entities—an innovative Australian 5G UAS navigation system and the Ohio Department of Transportation,” Pendleton Economic Development Director Steve Chrisman said. “No guarantees, but I’ll always put my money on Team Pendleton.”
The winners will be announced during the XPONENTIAL 2023 conference May 8-11 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo.
