Baker County is home to five registered sex offenders in July

There were two fewer registered sex offenders living in Baker County in July compared to the previous month, according to the Oregon Sex Offender Registry.

There were five sex offenders registered in Baker County in July, compared to seven the month before.

The Registry shows 26-year-old Geoffrey Amyx Michaels was the youngest sex offender living in Baker County in July.

David Dye Lee was the oldest at 58-years-old.

Oregon has the highest population-adjusted rate of sex offenders – about 749 per 100,000 people.

In 2020, about 11,487 unique victims of child abuse were reported in Oregon, but studies of victims have shown less than 30% of sex crimes are reported to law enforcement.
