PENDLETON POLICE DEPARTMENT: Oregon DMV Emergency Contacts...Have you heard about it?

27

Pendleton Police Department issued the following announcement on June 16.

Oregon DMV Emergency Contacts...Have you heard about it?

With today's instant access to social media there is a chance your friends and family could learn you've been involved in a critical incident before law enforcement has even had a chance.  Imagine receiving the terrible news of the fate of someone you love and then learn that information was not even correct.  Law enforcement's job just got a whole lot harder in trying to remedy the misinformation.

You can register up to two people as EMERGENCY contacts and those can be a family member or a friend it's up to you.  A parent or legal guardian can also register as an emergency contact on behalf of their driver(s) under 18.

It's a simple online process that only takes a couple of minutes.  To register, go to

https://www.oregon.gov/odot/DMV/Pages/EmergencyContact.aspx

and sign in to "Access My DMV Profile."  You need to have an Oregon driver's license, permit or identification card to register with the service.
