Burns Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 14.
The Burns Police Department is proud to welcome Chief Nancy Gardner to our agency. Chief Gardner was sworn in tonight during the regular city council meeting. Her husband, Mark, had the honor of pinning her badge. The city also recognized Harney County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Lucas McLain for serving as our Interim Chief since January.
