This position is in Pendleton at our 24 hour multi agency dispatch center, which is the first point of contact for citizens within Umatilla County when they call for police, fire, ambulance or other kinds of assistance. We are looking for someone that has a heart for helping people, can work well under extreme pressure, has excellent multi-tasking and computer skills and is great at problem solving. This position answers 911 calls and dispatches appropriate responses for medical, police and fire. They also answer non-emergency calls coming into the center, document incidents in the computer system and coordinate responses between multiple agencies through use of a robust radio system and multiple phone lines. It is fast-paced, high stress job with the reward of helping people when they need it the most. Our center dispatches for 21 public safety agencies throughout the region 24 hours a day.
