City of Pendleton issued the following announcement on Feb. 28.
City of Pendleton crews will begin work on Monday, February 28th, on SE Byers Avenue. This work is related to storm system upgrades from Main Street to SE 7th and water system upgrades from Main Street to SE 4th. It is anticipated this work will be ongoing through March and April. This work is being completed in preparation for the SE Byers Avenue street reconstruction project later in 2022.
Traffic control and detours will be provided. City staff will communicate directly with affected property owners during this construction. In order to complete this work, there will be periodic closures of intersections along SE Byers Avenue. City crews will try to maintain access to all properties, as allowed by the utility work underway.
After completing this work on SE Byers Avenue, City crews will move to NW Despain Avenue. More information on that proposed work will be announced in the future.
