Umatilla County Public Health issued the following announcement on Mar. 1.
Per information shared from Walla Walla County Emergency Management:
Some folks rate atmospheric rivers like hurricanes and tornadoes, and they rank this event as an AR4 (atmospheric river, category 4), out of a possible 5.
Greatest impacts will be over Western Washington, the Olympic Península, and the slopes of the Cascades. We are working with the hydrologist at US National Weather Service Pendleton Oregon to monitor the potential for flooding in our region.
